NRSWA Training in Leicester, Nottingham and Northampton

Safe and Trained is based at the University of Northampton Innovation Centre, in the middle of the East Midlands. We train council highways teams and contractors across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties, including regular street works cohorts for Leicestershire County Council.

What we run in the region

• NRSWA novice course (4 days): operative units 1 to 7 with supervisors alongside, for new starters and winter crews. Practical units run at a partner practical centre with excavation and hot-lay facilities.
• NRSWA refresher (2 days): reassessment to renew SWQR cards, run at your depot so nobody travels.
• Signing, lighting and guarding (1 day): on your own yard or depot, for teams that guard works but do not dig.
• Single units: add a unit, such as modular surfaces and concrete, to an existing card.

Why East Midlands teams use us

• Close by. Northampton is within easy reach of Leicester and Nottingham, so trainer travel stays low and early starts at your depot are easy.
• Our own CABWI assessors. We register delegates, assess, submit the claims and chase the SWQR cards.
• Small groups. A maximum of eight per course, so every delegate is properly assessed.
• One provider for the whole crew. Chapter 8, NRSWA, banksman and CSAS from one team, so a single visit can cover new starters, refreshers and supervisors.

Leicester and Leicestershire

We deliver street works weeks for council highways teams in Leicestershire, with refreshers and signing, lighting and guarding at the client's own depot and practical units at the partner centre.

Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

City and district teams, utility contractors and their subcontractors can train on their own site for refreshers and signing, lighting and guarding, with excavation and reinstatement units at the practical centre.

Northampton and Northamptonshire

Our home base. Theory and classroom elements can run at our Northampton training room at the Innovation Centre, Green Street, NN1 1SY, or at your depot.
